I'm a technical person with advanced skills in networking design, management and implementation. I value technology for what it does for people and the success it brings to business.
I'm also a Microsoft MVP for 14 years, received numerous leadership awards and a valued member of various boards guiding business growth, acquisitions, and partnerships. I’m currently serving on the executive council of the managed services community at Comptia.

Abstract:
The evaluation of an embedded products end-to-end security can often be greatly improved by examining data communication at the circuit level via inter-chip communication as data passes thru an embedded device. So during this presentation we will be exploring inter-chip communication concepts. Focusing on mapping circuit layouts, capturing and decoding communication methodologies, and evaluation of end-to-end security concepts on IoT bridging devices used for remote Internet access to devices leveraging none routable Protocols. With the goals of identifying and understanding: The decoding of Inter-chip communication, End-to-End security validation, Identification of potential attack vectors & vulnerabilities, Device internal command structure, Weaponization of bridge devices.

Deral Heiland, serves as a Research Lead (IoT) for Rapid7. Deral has over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology field. Over the last 15+ years Deral's career has focused on security research, penetration testing, and consulting. Deral has conducted security research on numerous subjects, releasing white papers, advisories, and has presented the information at conferences including Blackhat, Defcon, Shmoocon, DerbyCon, and Hack In Paris. Deral has been interviewed by and quoted by media outlets and publications including ABC World News Tonight, BBC, Consumer Reports, and MIT Technical Review.

Abstract:
Pass-the-Hash (PtH) attacks can be leveraged to authenticate on remote systems without the need of a password. Armed with just a hash, PtH attacks allow malicious threat actors to move laterally to other systems throughout an enterprise environment with Administrative privileges. In this talk we will use Metasploit to demo a PtH attack in action.

Matt Scheurer serves as Chair of the Cincinnati Networking Professionals Association Security Special Interest Group (CiNPA Security SIG), an Ambassador for Bugcrowd, and works as a Systems Security Engineer in the Financial Services industry. He holds a CompTIA Security+ Certification and possesses multiple Microsoft Certifications including MCP, MCPS, MCTS, MCSA, and MCITP. He has presented on numerous Information Security topics as a featured speaker at many local area technology groups and large Information Security conferences. Matt maintains active memberships in a number of professional organizations including the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Cincinnati Networking Professionals Association (CiNPA), Financial Services - Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC), Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and InfraGard.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) newest technologies and recent developments will be presented by HPE Storage Architect Sam Guffey, and the HPE Channel Technical Architect for the Ohio Valley Eric Powers.

Sam has worked in Information Technology for 22 years. In January 2018 Sam joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) as Storage Architect, covering Cincinnati, OH and Dayton, OH markets, including the entire and very extensive HPE Storage Portofolio.
Prior to HPE Sam spent 12 years at Dental Care Plus Group as Infrastructure Manager/Application Development Manager/DBA and 8 years with A&P Technology as Information Systems Mananger
Sam is a great speaker with wealth of knowledge, and great sense of humor to make his presentations and demonstrations even more magnetically attractive.

Is the HPE Channel Technical Architect for the Ohio Valley regional partner reseller community.
He covers the entire HPE portfolio from the industry’s most secure servers to the intelligent storage portfolio.
Eric has been with HPE since 2016. Before that, he worked for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida. Eric resides with his wife and two dogs in Columbus, OH, but will come to us to participate in presentations/demonstrations.

She has unique insight into hiring trends working closely with IT leadership at all levels with perspective of having been an IT professional.
Monica will do a presentation called Software is a Disruption. Cloud Computing and DevOps is changing the way people deploy code. Infrastructure and software are converging at a rapid pace, and developers are pushing changes on both the infrastructure and application side. How to update and market your skills in this ever evolving industry.
Tom Falter has a strong background in the Information Security area with over 20 years of information security sales with success in sales of hardware, software and professional services. In addition to his day job, Tom continues to operate his consulting firm, Thinks, Inc., which uses lean manufacturing principles to enable SMB's to analyze issues in sales, sales operations and enablement to find solutions that streamline processes and maximize sales performer contributions more quickly. He also teaches at Northern Kentucky University for the College of Informatics, Business Information Systems
